From one random artist to everyone out there in internet world, watercolor paintings and making art in general does a lot for my soul. That may sound a little weird, and I get it-talking about our feelings makes for some uncomfortable and awkward silences. But in all seriousness, art is a way my soul talks. Plain and simple.
Why I Watercolor
In November of 2020, I got sick. Plagued by utter exhaustion, my husband had to carry me up the stairs at times. I couldn’t make meals or serve my family; and pain was my constant companion. It was the hardest thing our family has ever faced. But after a year and half of trying every possible remedy you could think of, I finally started to improve. It’s a long drawn out story, and it’s too much to write about here. But without that valley, I’m not sure I’d enjoy watercolor like I do.
Watercolor Art Niche
I’ve heard you have to find your niche, whatever that means. I think it means you have to find that one thing you love to paint-whether it’s flowers, or landscapes, or maybe it’s cityscapes and chickens? Ha. So far, I haven’t found my niche yet. I enjoy painting flowers, landscapes, vintage downtowns and animals. I also enjoy painting portraits. Maybe along the way I’ll find my niche? I’m not sure. And really, I’m not sure if I want to.
I love watercolor. I’m thankful for it. I mentioned earlier that doing watercolor art is a way my soul talks. Someday I hope to put a shop here in internet land and sell my art as prints for all of you. That would be something special, I think. But until then, stay awhile, hang out. Maybe get a cup of coffee and chill with me. And thanks for dropping by.
