My Journey into beekeeping began with discovering bee venom therapy.
My journey into beekeeping started with researching bee venom therapy. I’ve mentioned here before that I’ll be starting bee venom therapy soon. I’m still waiting on test results from blood work. But once we get all the results squared away, I’ll start ordering my bees. When I first researched honey bee venom therapy, I admit to being a bit skeptical. But the more I learned, the more I was in awe. Honey bees are tiny little miracles that create such an incredible difference in our world. It’s incredible how God uses tiny creatures that may seem insignificant, and bothersome, (or if you ask my husband, just plain evil) to change and feed the entire planet.
Bee Venom Therapy & Diseases
Not only do they help the earth to grow, their venom can help heal certain diseases like Lyme and rheumatism related ailments. Wow. Since learning this, I’ve often wondered if maybe before the fall, honey bee’s stings felt good. In a perfect world, without sin, maybe Adam or Eve welcomed the little stings. And instead of causing pain, maybe they felt like little bursts of happiness. I’m imagining, of course. There is no proof of this. But it’s fun to think about.
Bee Venom Therapy & Beekeeping
I’ve wanted to get honey bees since I found out how incredible they were. And when I helped my sister-in-law with her hives, I fell in love with the bees. The way they work, the way they simply are…there is nothing quite like watching these tiny creatures do what they were meant to do. It forces you to settle your mind, to focus. But as much as I wanted to have honey bees, I debated getting them. Do you do that? You want something, but you wonder if you’ll be stretching yourself too thin? Sigh.
But then Christmas morning came. I had asked my husband for anything related to beekeeping because, “One day I want to do it.” I told him this thinking that maybe in the next two years I would start beekeeping. And then, I opened my gift. It was a bee hive tool. Guys, I cried. Silly? Maybe a little. Josh looked at me and said, “I checked with our township. We can get bees. I’ve found a few local places we can buy bees from in the spring. I’m gonna help you so you can do bees this coming year.” The more he talked, the more my eyes blurred. If you only knew how much my husband hated bees, you’d understand.
Beekeeper In Training
Since Christmas Day, I’ve been filling my head with all the honey bee knowledge I can cram into my brain. These little creatures are amazing. God is incredible. Learning about the bees gives me great respect and love for my Creator. And in all the learning, I’ve decided to plant some extra bee loving flowers, herbs, and maybe a few trees to help give the bees more pollen. I made a handy dandy sheet with some ideas. Spring is just around the corner. Let’s help the bees by planting some flowers.
