Home Update Remodel

We always wanted a home in the country, and we finally were able to purchase one in 2021. It sits on 10 acres of mostly wooded land. The house sits in middle with five acres in front and five in the back. We are super grateful for this property-even with all it’s quirks. When I say quirks, I mean the crazy things previous owners do. For example, when your outlet cover doesn’t fit-just cut the corner off. It’s no big deal. Ha. Things like that. All the quirks, along with the age-makes it a bit wonky and outdated. But even with the wonkiness and 80’s vintage-I’m so thankful and happy to have this place for our family.

But I also love making things pretty. And it’s time. It’s time for the 80’s to say good-bye, and to welcome a new cozy, moody, Josh & Rachel style to this house; but minus the wonky, I hope. I love art, so I’m excited! I told Josh I want to make this place a work of art. Not necessarily perfect-but us. You know?

We really went crazy this week with the home update remodel. Here is photo dump. We have a lot of work to do, but it’s everything at once and then one thing at a time. Ha. Maybe some of you get that?

Conclusion

I’m excited to see it come together. My ideas are a bit chaotic, and I still have to work them out in mind. But having those upper cabinets down in the kitchen makes me never want to put them back. The space is so freeing!! I have a few ideas to keep the walls clear, but most of it depends on whether we can move the pillar with all the plumbing inside. Hoping we can. Either way, it will be fun!
