Life Update

The flu. And toddlers. Can you see where this is going?

Imagine my surprise when I came into the kitchen and there was a pile of slick vomit all on the kitchen floor. Not only that, a tiny toddler with tiny feet decided to run laps through the kitchen. And with each lap, that tiny toddler decided to aggressively step through the slick vomit.

Then suddenly, you notice that your dog is licking his lips. Why? You ask. Because dogs are disgusting, and they look at vomit like it’s a tasty delectable dessert. Gag! I admit, for a split second, I froze. What do you do first? Find the kid? Banish the dog? Run and hide in a clean closet and wait for the mess to magically disappear?

I did finally unfreeze. The dog went out first, leaving paw prints of puke all the way to the door. I looked at my husband and delegated, “Hey, clean the kids.” And then I mopped. But afterward, I realized that once was not enough to satisfy my germaphobic nature. I mopped again. Checked the kids, and was surprised to see how clean they were. Good job, Josh.

This is only Day One. I can’t imagine what’s coming. This is quite a life update, isn’t it? We have eight people in our family, how long do you think until another person becomes infected? Hahahaha. Insanity is just around the corner. I’m kidding.

The honey bees are coming along in the video. Every time I paint them I think of doing bee venom therapy. Also, since studying bees and the way they live, I can’t help but love them. Their fuzzy little bodies. The way they work. Maybe one day I’ll be a beekeeper. I get so much joy just watching them.

The Painting Process

This video shows the first layer of color done with watercolor pencils. I colored with the pencils, then painted over the color with a wet brush. Then I painted the titles. For each letter I would first lay down a layer of water. Then I’d load my brush with color and drop the paint into the water. After the paint drops into the water, you can watch it move and travel wherever the water goes.
